Six month update and Product Review

This Six 1/2 month old has my heart bursting constantly!!! I swear this is the best stage so far... He is always smiling, giggling, and making these funny mmmmm sounds. Sleeping through the night is literally a game changer. He occasionally wakes up in between 3-6 Am and at that point I just put him in bed with me. I love waking up to his precious face! I have been making all of his baby food and I truly enjoy it!!!! The magic baby bullet and steamer is seriously my favorite baby product to date!! ( Besides the Baby K'tan). He has not started cutting teeth yet and I am not looking forward to it... I hear its bad!!!!!
A few pics before listing our favorite six month products!!!!

Mr. Blue eyes all smiles for mommy

Lazy day

Chef Mommy!!!! ( left to right) <-- some of our favorites this month are: Avocado Banana, Turkey/squash/spinach, Sweet potato/ Carrot, and Applesauce...the newest one is peas!!! I slowly introduced each food separately and then once I knew he wasn't allergic I started in on the combos! The sky is the limit! He hates spinach so I love to find sneaky ways to get him his little spinach. I made Brandon and I these amazing turkey meatballs that were packed with veggies..and I thought " Why not just puree these and make for Jax too?" He LOVED them!!! Recipe up soon!

I live for days at home with my baby!!!!

MELT!

Anyways..now that I have my pictures out of the way ( y'all I literally go back on my blogs and re-read his newborn posts..I am so sappy and sentimental...and I was never like that before babies!!)

Since starting solids..I always find myself worrying about his lunch if we are out and about.. as much as I enjoy our lazy days at home we do get out and about quite often! It is such a pain to  haul a bowl and spoon ( and messy!) in your diaper bag... when I discovered this spoon I got all sorts of excited. You literally just pour the baby food inside the squeeze pouch and it dispenses for you.. its like a bowl and spoon all in one. Easy clean up ( just rinse it) great for on the go and traveling.

This is great because it is so easy for little baby hands to maneuver as well as a gum cleaner!!! Jax chews on this thing all the time ( stroller rides, out to dinner) it occupies him and it feels good on his gums.

Baby Banana Infant Training Toothbrush and Teether, Yellow

Happy Baby Organic Teethers Gentle Teething Wafers 3 Flavor Sampler Bundle: (1) Pea & Spinach Teething Wafers, (1) Sweet Potato & Banana Wafers, and (1) Blueberry & Purple Carrot Wafers, 1.7 Oz. Ea.

Omg THESE!!!! So amazing for a teething baby... I give these to Jax when we are out to dinner and they are great!! They are rough so they scratch the gums and give them a fun little self feeding snack. We have tried them all but the sweet potato banana is our favorite. We also liked the purple carrot but fair warning IT STAINS.

Jax is a HUGE drooler.. like soak a onesie in five seconds drooler... we are CONSTANTLY wearing a bib. I hate those plastic ugly bibs ( unless we are eating then bring the ugly bibs on!!!) but when we go out I want him to wear something cute that will sustain the drool. These bibs are great and because of the different buttons on the back they will fit your child until age two. They come in a million different designs are are so much fun!!!!

Matimati Baby Bandana Bib Set, 4-Pack Super Absorbent Drool Bandana Bibs (Arrows & Triangles)

This right here was a game changer for me. Sure, you can take the easy ( and cheap route) and just mash the food with a fork or by all means if you have a great food processor then you may deem this product unnecessary. For those of you who aren't into the kitchen gear but want to make your child's food this is GREAT! I love how it comes with food storage, freezer storage, different blades for different foods..and the newest portion of the system THE STEAMER!!!! I was boiling Jax veggies and foods and it would take a good while..  constantly checking it with my fork blah bah. The steamer has a particular setting for every food you could think of and it cooks it in less than 15 minutes!!! It also is a sterilizer, can boil eggs, and defrost food. I really enjoy it and I am having so much fun with the different food combos. I highly recommend this!!!!Image result for baby bullet

Rainy Monday and a few Recipes... WHAT!

This blog started out as a cooking blog ( I don't even remember the last time I posted a recipe!!!) During the days of being a newlywed in tandem with teaching preschool I would read cook books, tweak them, and blog my own little concoctions. Fast forward a pregnancy and baby later..there are NO recipes to be found! They have all been lost in the sea of newborn pictures and monthly updates!!! So I have decided to start posting bi-weekly NEW recipes now that I have a little bit more time to myself ( baby Jax is on a great sleep schedule now yay!)

First up is something that a dear friend made for me right after I had Jax. Now I can't exactly take full credit for it but I did some minor tweaking so I felt I needed to share it on the blog. If you have a busy week ahead all you need to do is prep this meal on a sunday and it can be lunch for you/kids/husband all week long. It saves great so thats also a win!

Grilled Chicken Pesto Pasta

This is a simple supper that requires about 30 minutes of your time. If you don't have time to fire up the grill, simply bake your chicken breasts and you are good to go!!! Here is the ingredient list

Ingredients:

two grilled chicken breasts sliced or chunked

two cups grape tomatoes sliced in half

freshly diced basil

bowtie pasta cooked drained and rinsed

olive oil

home made pesto ( or if you want to save time just buy the store-bought version!)

Fresh Mozzarella ( or shredded in the bag)

Salt and pepper

thats it!!

Directions:

Grill or bake your chicken ( salt and pepper/ olive oil both sides) to perfection and then chunk or slice it however you choose. Set aside-

While your chicken is cooking, cook your pasta adding just a little olive oil to the pot . Once finished,  rinse and drain and set aside.

here comes the fun part :)

In a LARGE bowl add your pasta, chicken, sliced fresh basil, grape tomatoes, and pesto sauce.. MIX TOGETHER!!! Continue to add salt and pepper until it is seasoned to preference. Serve in a Bowl and top with a few chunks of fresh Mozz!!!!! SO simple!!!

PHOTO DUMP

Happy Monday Peeps!!!!! I hope everyone had a well rested weekend and enjoyed time with loved ones!!!! We have just come home from our six month well visit and are currently enjoying a starbucks ( mommy) and bottle ( Jaxie) while I type this little post up. Jax is getting so big!! 48 percentile in weight, 23 in height, and a whopping 70 in head circum. LOL Baby boy gotta big ole noggin! Not to much has changed around here.. ugh especially the weather. I love how it is January but instead of enjoying a  nice cool front I am sitting at home in shorts and blasting my AC. Gotta love a Texas Winter I guess!!!

Brandon and I are so excited because we are SELLING our home and building a new one!!!! I am excited but also stressed about this process because I know its pretty intense. I am excited however, to build exactly what we want!! We will settle into our new home about 15 mins from our current home on about 5 acres!! I am so excited to be on some LAND for a change!!!! Other than that we haven't really been doing much.. just enjoying little sugar, stroller strides, and a lot of family time.

Because this child is ALWAYS happy!!

Excited to be at the DR......

I LOVE YOU my sweet baby boy!

I always knew I would love being a mommy this much.. even on the days where I am feeling more tired than usual..I am so grateful. I can't even express how grateful I am to get to take care of my sweet little Jaxie each day. I am holding all of the mommie's who were not as fortunate as to get to take their babies home in my prayers and in my heart. Lord knows we waited on Jax for almost 2 years! We are so blessed to be able to get to be his parents. Each day is NOT a guarantee and one of my goals for 2017 is to be more intentional. I want to be intentional with my family and literally savor every moment.. before I know it Jax will be talking.. I will be pregnant.. we will be in a different place in life .. so for these days that may seem so boring to some they are truly SO special to me .. I just hold my baby and stare at him and truly thank God for choosing me and ALLOWING me to be his mom.
